member of the Lancaster Cyber Security Centre of Excellence and a lecturer at School of Computing and Communications, Lancaster University, UK. He received his M. Sc. in information security from University College London, UK in 2008, and his Ph.D. degrees in computer science from University of Tartu, Estonia in 2011. Before his current appointment, he was a postdoctoral researcher at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and University at Buffalo, SUNY, USA respectively. Before that, he was a part-time research associate at University College London, UK and a full-time researcher at Cybernetica AS, Estonia. In the recent years, his research efforts focus on cryptography, cloud computing & big data security, secure end-to-end verifiable e-voting systems and smartcard and smartphone security.
